HE KARORO INU KI UTA – BEGINNER PROGRAMME
A practical introduction to te reo me ngā tikanga Māori, designed for beginners and those wanting to build their confidence.

HE MATUKU MOANA KI TAI – INTERMEDIATE PROGRAMME
Ready to take the next step?
He Matuku Moana ki Tai builds on the foundations of He Karoro Inu ki Uta and is designed for whānau who have completed the Beginners Programme or already have a basic understanding of te reo Māori me ngā tikanga Māori.
- Thursdays: 8, 15, 22 & 29 October 2026

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
Both courses cover the following:
- Kawa & Tikanga o te marae
- Te Reo i te marae (on the marae)
- Te Reo i te kāinga (in the home)
- Whakatinana (Putting it into Practice)
WHO CAN REGISTER?
You must be a registered Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki iwi member.
You will also need:
- A digital device
- Internet access
- A commitment to attend all four classes
